Who is general podiatry suited for?
In general, everyone but especially for those who individuals that find it difficult to attend to their own feet safely. People with diabetes are advised to allow podiatrists to attend to their feet as any cut, bruise or sore can cause ulceration and infection if unattended. Given their diabetes status, their healing potential is reduced and hence it is essential to have nail & skin attended to by a trained podiatrist.
This treatment is recommended at an 6, 8 or 10 week appointments. Since every person is different, review appointments will vary according to each case. ]
